Barbara Marie Giles-Hardy was born February 11, 1940 to William Giles and Eliza Simmons-Giles in Miami, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers William and Samuel Giles, sister, Linda Giles-Mosely, and two children: Teresa and Earnest Crawford Jr.
Barbara accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was faithful to her faith and her church Beulah Missionary Baptist. It was under the tutelage of her cousin, Rev. C.L. Carter that she continued to grow in faith and in service.
She was a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, usher board, Mission Society, Hospitality Committee, and anything else asked of her. She served with a smile and welcoming heart. Barbara never had a harsh word toward anyone and helped anyone in need. A song she would hum all the time was: May the Work I’ve Done Speak For Me. Her service in God and dedication of faith speaks volumes.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memories her husband Willie C. Hardy Sr. (L.C.), brother, Randall Giles, Children: Shirley Holmes-Johnson, Larry Crawford (Trevina), Richard Crawford, Sandra Crawford, and Irving Crawford, Jacqueline Crawford-Smith (Horace), Willie C. Hardy Jr.
She also leaves to cherish her memories her Goddaughter, Barbara Gibson (Florida), a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
I Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)
