Obituary for Cary “Detroit” Donald Parmann
Cary “Detroit” Donald Parmann on was born on Feb. 10, 1957, in Port Huron, MI to Ilene V and Robert V Parmann. He passed peacefully in his home in Sebring, FL on November 22, 2023. Cary attended Port Huron North High School, where he was also lovingly known as “Points”. He went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1974-1976. After deployment, Cary was hired at Ford Motor Company near Detroit, MI. He retired after 22 years. Throughout his life, he was an active member with United Auto Workers, VFW, Moose Club, Eagles Club and American Legion. In his retirement he enjoyed snow birding from MI to FL for several years. He was very fond of Harley Davidson motorcycles and riding with his close friends. He was an avid fan of Michigan University football and the Detroit Lions. He met his surviving wife, Deborah, in 2018 and has lived in Sebring, FL for the past 7 years. He enjoyed his dogs, his wife’s cooking, and socializing with friends and meeting new ones at local establishments.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah J. Rhodes-Parmann; her children, Ronald, Ryan, Fallon and Patrick; and by two half-brothers, Craig and Clare Gerlach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ilene and Robert Parmann; a sister, Colleen Parmann and a half sister, Connie L. Jaekel.
A celebration of life will be announced.
