DAVIS BRIAN KOPE

Davis B. Kope, known by Dave, passed away on September 21, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Hospice, in Sebring Florida, at the age of 80 years old. He was born on August 18, 1944, in York, Pennsylvania, he was the cherished son of the late Harold R. and Ruth Helen Kope.

Dave graduated from Northeastern Schools and furthered his Education at the Electrical School of Technology. 

He was a skilled entrepreneur and owned and operated Dave’s Electric Contractors, TRICO Electric, and Rivers Hill Trucking Inc. serving his community with dedication and pride.

An avid outdoorsman man, Dave’s passion for big game hunting and fishing defined much of his leisure and stories with friends and family. 

Dave is survived by his wife, Darla Sprague; sons, Micheal Kope of York, Pa. and Shane Kope of Camp Hill, Pa.; and his grandchildren; sisters, Diana Baublitz of Red Lion, Pa,  Aluana Hoke of Washington Boro, Pa, Juanita Reichert of Mechanicsburg, Pa, Alvenia McKinney of Red Lion, Pa, Tina May of Huntsville, Alabama and Bille Jo Lake of Dover, Pa; and his caregiver, Megan Yakowicz. He was preceded in death by his son, Davis B. Kope Jr.; and his three brothers, Harold Kope Jr, Jeffrey Kope and Lamont Kope. 

Dave’s legacy of outdoors and the indelible mark he left on his family and friends will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. 

The Sean A. Banks Mortuary in Avon Park, Florida is in charge of his services and a Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
