GARY DEAN (SR) JENKINS

Gary Dean Jenkins, Sr. was commonly known simply as Gary Dean. He was the son of Juanita and Jurious Jenkins. He was born on June 9, 1951, in Avon Park, Fl. He passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Gary loved his family, watching TV especially football, and playing cards. As a child, he attended Hopewell Elementary. Gary was also a member of the graduating class of 1969 from Avon Park High School.

His favorite color was green.

He worked as a water meter reader for the City of Avon Park. He also did electrical work, such as ceiling fan installation; and, oftentimes at a discounted price.

He is survived by six children, Gary D. Jenkins, Jr., Troy D. Gray, Darrius D. Jenkins, Coya Natisha Rushing, Vaughn Jenkins, and Miriam Lashay Hart; six granddaughters, Jordan Little, Riley Gray, Vaughn Jenkins, Jada Jenkins, Ja’nya Jenkins, and Kisley Jenkins; eleven grandsons, Kenneth Deveaux, Jr., Kenijah Deveaux, Troy N. Gray, Garry Jenkins III, Marqui Jenkins, Joshua Jenkins, Giovanni Jenkins, Demetrius Jackson, Darrius Jenkins, Jr., Deaurion Jenkins, and Dion Jenkins; five great granddaughters, Myla Jenkins, Garry Jenkins, Darryn Jenkins, Kezlyn Jenkins, and Sadie Jenkins, five great grandsons, Jermiah Jenkins, Ja’Nyia Jenkins, Jai’Ana Jenkins, Jah’Darrius Kyion Jenkins, and Kaiden Kyree Jenkins, one brother,  Vaughn Jenkins; three aunts, Susie McDermott, Novella Green, and Regis Brown, two uncles, Osborn McDermott and John Koepper; five nieces, Latisha Jenkins, Shonnieka Jenkins, Lithia Jenkins, Jessica Jenkins and Victoria Jenkins; one nephew, Raymond Jones; as well as a host of loving cousins and friends.
