JAMES ANTHONY PAXTON

James Anthony Paxton (Tony), 62, passed away August 13, 2023 due to cancer related complications at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring, FL.

He was a loving Father, Son, Grandparent, Brother and Friend.

Tony was born July 25, 1961 in Hollywood, California to George and Clara Paxton. He was the youngest of two children. Soon after, the family moved to Nebraska, where Tony spent the rest of his young life. He attended school in Gordon, NE and was proud to hold the long jump record at his high school for many years after he graduated. In high school he excelled at sports including basketball and track and field. He served as a lifeguard for 3+ summers at the local pool.

Tony’s entire career was spent in the Information Technology field in IT leadership and then later as an IT technician for Highlands County School district where his coworkers acted as a second family to him.

Tony enjoyed many activities. Some of his favorites where camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren and golfing with friends and family.

Tony was preceded in death by his brother Rod Paxton.

Tony was married for 34 years to Terri Watson. From that union they had two children Brooke and Brandon.

Tony is survived by his parents George and Clara Paxton, son Brandon Paxton and daughter-in-law Brooke Paxton, daughter Brooke Bianes and son-in-law Anthony Bianes, 6 grandchildren: Caden, Layla and Alana Bianes and Joe, Jonah and Nolan Paxton and a huge family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

While Tony will be dearly missed by all who knew him, he would want everyone to know that he was more than prepared and eager to meet his Lord and Savior.
