MILAGROS MARTÌNEZ ORTIZ (Lala)

80Years Old

MILAGROS MARTÌNEZ ORTIZ was born in the town of Santurce, on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of Rafael Martínez and Carmen Ortiz. Her siblings were Inès, Haydee, Rafaela and Gilberto Martínez.

She attended Rafael Marìa De Labra Elementay School and Padre Rufo Middle- High School, both in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Milagros decided to become a High Fashion Designer. She enrolled in the Carlota Alfaro Academy. Carlota is a famous  puetorrican designer of international recognition with collections in Bloomingdales, Neimann Marcus and Saks to name a few. Milagros was a wedding gowns specialist, but her passion was to make school uniforms and high fashion dresses for her neighbors, friends and all the girls in the family, “all of them” and most of the time, free of charge. Who did not were a Milagros’?

In 1961 she married Victor Villegas. They had three children: Carmen, Gloria and Victor. Her grandchildren are Inès Marie, Bàrbara, Gloria Marie, Edwardo, Kayla and Michael. She also has 12 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

In 1962 she moved to Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and lived in el Residencial Villa España for 60 years. Milagros loved tutoring students with their Math and English homework.

Milagros was also a devoted woman of God, and she faithfully attended Iglesia Cristiana Roca Eterna, in Puerto Rico.

How Wonderful, Faithful and Awesome is our God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ that allowed Milagros Martínez Ortiz to be part of the planting of a church in her own lineage!

In 2022 Lala moved to Lake Placid, FL and faithfully attended Iglesia en Movimiento a church planted by Dr. Timothy Sewell, the husband of her granddaughter Bàrbara, where we all gathered to celebrate her life with a worship service to honor the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of the Bible.

MILAGROS MARTÍNEZ ORTIZ nació en la ciudad de Santurce, en la hermosa isla de Puerto Rico. Fue hija de Rafael Martínez y Carmen Ortiz. Sus hermanos eran Inés, Haydee, Rafaela y Gilberto Martínez.Asistió a la Escuela Primaria Rafael María De Labra y a la Escuela Secundaria Padre Rufo, ambas en San Juan, Puerto Rico. Milagros decidió convertirse en Diseñadora de Alta Moda. Se inscribió en la Academia Carlota Alfaro. Carlota es una famosa diseñadora puertorriqueña de reconocimiento internacional, con colecciones en Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus y Saks, por nombrar algunos. Milagros era especialista en vestidos de novia, pero su pasión era confeccionar uniformes escolares y vestidos de alta moda para sus vecinos, amigos y todas las chicas de la familia, “todas ellas”, y la mayoría de las veces, de manera gratuita. ¿Quién no fue atendido por Milagros?En 1961 se casó con Víctor Villegas. Tuvieron tres hijos:Carmen, Gloria y Víctor. Sus nietos son Inès Marie, Bàrbara, Gloria Marie, Edwardo, Kayla y Michael. También tiene 12 nietos y un bisnieto.En 1962 se mudó a Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, y vivió en el Residencial Villa España durante 60 años. A Milagros le encantaba ayudar a los estudiantes con sus tareas de Matemáticas e Inglés.Milagros también fue una mujer devota de Dios, y asistía fielmente a la Iglesia Cristiana Roca Eterna, en Puerto Rico.¡Qué maravilloso, fiel e impresionante es nuestro Dios, Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que permitió que Milagros Martínez Ortiz formara parte de la siembra de una iglesia en su propia descendencia!En 2022, Lala se mudó a Lake Placid, FL, y asistía fielmente a la Iglesia en Movimiento, una iglesia plantada por el Dr. Timothy Sewell, esposo de su nieta Bàrbara, donde todos nos reunimos para celebrar su vida con un servicio de adoración para honrar al Dios de Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, el Dios de la Biblia.
