Mrs. Norma Geneva Hawk was born October 28, 1934, in Daytona beach, Florida to the proud parents, Richard and Eloise Williams. She was the seventh of twelve children of which nine have preceded her in death. Mrs. Hawk attended Keyser Elementary and graduated from Campbell Street High school. Thereafter, she attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee Florida, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree. She was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., head cheerleader and a member of the Modern Dance Club. She began her career in education as a Physical Education teacher at Howard W. Blake High School located in Tampa, Florida for 16 years before marrying and relocating to Avon Park Middle School in Avon Park, Florida making an impact on many with her introduction of dance classes as a part of the physical education curriculum, until her retirement. She continued after her retirement to teach a dance/ aerobics class in the community. She was also a member of the FAMU Alumni Association and the FAMU retiree association Tampa Chapter. Mrs. Hawk was a true Christian, a devoted and faithful member of Beulah Missionary Baptist church where she served as a Bookkeeper, Trustee, and a Sunday School teacher. Also, while serving at the church she was known for the legendary productions of annual Christmas plays for many years. She was also an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneer ’s fan, she enjoyed fishing and Family and friends' gatherings. She is survived by one sister: Mary Mallory-Gerlits (William) of Port Orange, FL and one brother: Roosevelt Williams of Columbus, GA, twelve nephews, five nieces and a host of cousins, great and great -great nieces and nephews and a Godson: Demetrius and longtime close friends. She will truly be missed by everyone.
