Thomas Langdon Knight 57, of Minneola, FL took his final ride to the sky August 25, 2018. He was born in Jacksonville, IL on November 9, 1960 to Clement Vedder Knight and Vivian Christison Knight. Tom and his wife Cynthia were married March 28th, 2014 at The Hideaway located on the beautiful Harris Chain of Lakes in Tavares, FL.
Tom grew up in White Hall, IL and graduated from North Greene High School with the class of 1978. He then moved to Hollywood, Florida. He worked in the Funeral Industry for over 25 years and lent a caring hand to all who were stricken with grief. Tom was also the Administrator of the South Lake Moose Lodge. Tom was an honest, generous man who was very community minded and touched countless lives. He enjoyed helping all who crossed his path. His passions included family, golf, music, motorcycles, and sneaking moon pies during the middle of the night. His daughter, Samantha, was his Pride and Joy. Tom married the love of his life, Cynthia, and they enjoyed traveling and riding through the town on fun-filled adventures. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed many long-lasting friendships along the way.
Tom is survived by his wife, Cynthia; son Zachary Joseph of Roodhouse, IL; daughter Samantha Marie of Groveland, FL; and his children by marriage Rebecca Duncan of Philadelphia, PA, Andrew Johnson of Clermont, FL, and Lauren Johnson of Minneola, FL. Tom is also survived by his brother William Vedder Knight of White Hall, IL; and sisters Pamela (Andrew) Pratt of Liberty, MO and Janice (Gary) Breece of White Hall, IL; several nieces and nephews; and his brothers and sisters of The Loyal Order of Moose. Tom is preceded in death by his Father.
Tom will be missed by many. He will stay in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A celebration of life will be held Friday August 31st, 2018 at the South Lake Moose Lodge. It will begin at 3pm sharp with a motorcycle procession. This will end at a gathering on US Highway 27 for a moment of silence and prayer. Upon return to the Moose Lodge, words from family and friends will follow. The night will continue into celebrating the life of Tom Knight.
