THOMAS TRUESDAIL Obituary

Thomas (Tom) Truesdail, of Owego, New York passed away on Saturday, February 8th, 2025. He was predeceased by his father, Herbert Truesdail (1937 – 1974) and mother, Doris (Swartz, Truesdail) Teed (1939 – 2023). He is survived by his sister, Kellie Truesdail, his son Herbert Truesdail, granddaughter, Ava May Truesdail, and his three nieces, Lindsey, Elaine and Sarah. Tom was reunited with his love, Debra (Best) Truesdail early last year, and they were married in April. They moved to Florida to begin living their “happily ever after” dream. Sadly, Tom’s health quickly deteriorated, and he lost a battle with a short-term illness, ending the life together they had both so looked forward to. If you knew Tom, you loved him. You just couldn’t help it. That fact got him into as much trouble as it got him out of. His true passion was his party with his friends and his family. He was a true “Owego Boy”, and he never forgot the childhood friends he grew up with (Fred Bensley, Bobby Moyer, Rusty Swartz, and the extended list is almost endless). Tom loved to fish, drink beer and play guitar (two of which he did very well). He’ll be remembered by all for his goofy faces, jokes, big dumb heart and the way he always made you feel special and never forgot a name or a face. A celebration of his life will be held in the Spring and details will be posted here for the “Truez Tribute Party”. Rest in peace, Tom. Know you are loved and will be missed by many.
